Purchasing Assistant

Canton Macan Professional Staffing Agency is assisting a local Canton company in hiring a temporary employee to assist our Procurement Lead with buyer functions. This position is with Canton Drop Forge, a global leader in custom and closed-die forgings serving aerospace, oilfield, power generation, mechanical power transmission, off-highway, and railway industries.
This role supports day-to-day purchasing operations including processing requisitions, issuing purchase orders, coordinating with suppliers, monitoring pricing and lead times, and assisting with cost-reduction initiatives. The Buyer will also partner closely with Accounts Payable to investigate and resolve invoice discrepancies, maintain accurate purchasing records, and collaborate with internal departments to ensure timely delivery of materials and compliance with company policies. Candidates should be detail-oriented, organized, and able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Qualifications:
1–3+ years of procurement or purchasing experience preferred
Strong communication and negotiation skills
ERP experience (SAP, Oracle, or Infor/Visual) and Microsoft Office proficiency
Problem-solving mindset with strong organizational abilities
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 7:30 AM – 4:30 PM
Duration: 6–8 months
Pay: $25–$30/hr.
