Job Title: Shipping & Receiving Coordinator
Job Summary:
The Shipping & Receiving Coordinator plays a crucial role in the efficient flow of products within the organization. Responsible for the receipt, packaging, and shipment of goods, this individual ensures compliance with work instructions, maintains departmental organization, and upholds cleanliness standards. The role involves handling incoming and outgoing products, coordinating shipments, and interacting with customers and freight companies.
Duties / Responsibilities:
1. **Receiving Operations:**
- Receive, unpack, document, and identify all incoming products and supplies.
- Record/log incoming products, categorize them, and move them to the next processing area.
- Take digital pictures of incoming customer products, create files with assigned job numbers, and generate accompanying paperwork using computer systems.
2. **Shipping Operations:**
- Paint, package, and coordinate the shipment of finished products via various carriers (LTL freight, UPS, Fed Ex).
- Utilize LTL freight company websites to arrange shipments, process necessary paperwork, and ensure compliance with shipping regulations.
- Package products for customer pickup and arrange for pickup at customers' facilities when required.
3. **Customer Interaction:**
- Greet customers and freight companies upon arrival, assisting with loading and unloading products during deliveries.
- Maintain positive customer relationships and ensure a smooth pickup process for customers.
4. **Documentation:**
- Produce and manage paperwork related to the receipt, painting, packaging, and shipment of products.
- Handle Bills of Lading, export documents, and other paperwork as needed.
5. **General Responsibilities:**
- Ensure the organization and cleanliness of the shipping & receiving department.
- Adapt to a fast-paced environment and handle tasks efficiently.
- Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Required Skills / Abilities:
1. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
2. Ability to take verbal direction and work independently.
3. Self-motivated with a strong work ethic.
4. Experience with Microsoft Office products (Outlook, Word, Excel).
5. Proficient in navigating the internet and using LTL freight companies' websites for shipment arrangements.
6. They would need to be willing to paint/pack and work in a fast-paced environment.
Education and Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Relevant shipping & receiving experience.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift 50-75 lbs. frequently.
- Prolonged periods of standing, bending, walking.
- Operation of pallet jack or forklift.
- Short periods of sitting.
**Hours: Monday - Friday -First shift: 7:00-4:00 - 1 hour lunch
-5 – 8’s Overtime as needed
**Pay; BOE $20-and up
