Job Title: Parts Stock Room Operator (3rd Shift)
Pay: $19.50/hour
Schedule: Monday – Friday | 10:50 PM – 6:50 AM
Job Description:
The Parts Stock Room Operator is responsible for efficiently managing and controlling the parts stock room on 3rd shift. Under the supervision of the Finished Stores Supervisor, this position ensures proper organization, tracking, and availability of parts including rough castings, semi-finished parts, finished parts, purchased components, and supplies. This role requires strong attention to detail, organization, and the ability to read blueprints and bills of materials.
Key Responsibilities:
• Perform duties typically assigned to stock room helpers
• Maintain control and organization of storage areas for all part types
• Accurately record parts storage and maintain perpetual inventory using stock card bins
• Monitor inventory levels and submit requisitions for shortages through Production Control
• Train and direct stock room helpers on proper handling and procedures
• Ensure parts are shelved correctly and maintain a clean, organized work area
• Keep aisles clear to allow efficient movement of materials
• Accurately complete time tickets and required documentation
• Report all hazards and injuries immediately to supervision
• Participate in health and safety training and follow all safety protocols
• Stop processes or equipment if unsafe conditions are observed
• Address unsafe behaviors and assist in maintaining a safe work environment
• Participate in incident investigations and support corrective actions
Qualifications:
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and bills of materials
• Experience managing inventory and stock room operations preferred
• Warehousing and material handling experience required
• Tow motor (forklift) experience required
• Raymond (reach truck) experience preferred
• Knowledge of part names, styles, and sizes
• Strong organizational and attention-to-detail skills
• Ability to work independently on 3rd shift
