Maintenance Technician

Mancan is searching for a Maintenance Technician to join a reputable steel manufacturing company in the Cambridge area. This hands-on role involves working closely with production, engineering, and management teams to ensure all equipment and facility systems operate efficiently and safely. The ideal candidate will have strong mechanical and troubleshooting skills, attention to detail, and a proactive, team-oriented mindset. Responsibilities:
Perform routine maintenance and repairs on production equipment, machinery, and facility systems.
Troubleshoot and diagnose mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic issues.
Conduct preventative maintenance to minimize downtime and extend equipment life.
Inspect equipment and identify potential problems, implementing corrective actions.
Maintain accurate maintenance logs, work orders, and documentation.
Collaborate with production staff to ensure timely repairs and minimal disruption to operations.
Assist with installation, setup, and testing of new equipment and machinery.
Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies at all times.
Monitor facility systems such as HVAC, plumbing, and electrical as needed.
Support continuous improvement initiatives by recommending process and equipment enhancements.
Respond promptly to emergency maintenance issues and equipment breakdowns.
Perform additional duties and special projects as assigned by management.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent required; technical certification or trade school training preferred.
Previous maintenance experience in a manufacturing or industrial setting preferred.
Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, electrical components, and troubleshooting techniques. Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals.
Basic welding, electrical, or PLC experience is a plus .
Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
Willingness to work flexible hours, including overtime if needed.
The successful candidate will demonstrate a customer-focused approach (internal and external), embrace process improvement methodologies, and make data-driven decisions while adapting to a fast-paced work environment.
Schedule & Pay:
Monday through Friday
6:30AM – 3:00PM
Pay rate: $22.00
