Shipping Clerk – Chagrin Falls, OH
Hours 8am-5pm Monday-Friday
Pay-$18-$20 an hour
Mancan Staffing, in partnership with a Chagrin Falls area company, is currently seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Shipping Clerk to join their team. This role is responsible for the efficient movement of goods through shipping and receiving processes, ensuring accurate order fulfillment, and maintaining organized warehouse operations.
The ideal candidate is energetic, meticulous, and thrives in a fast-paced environment. This position requires working with product codes, quantities, product descriptions, and detailed shipping instructions.
Job Overview
As a Shipping Clerk, you will play a key role in daily warehouse operations, including picking, packing, and shipping orders while ensuring accuracy and efficiency throughout the process.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
* Identify and gather correct product items and quantities as ordered using FIFO (first in/first out) method
* Pull orders, pick, pack, and ship customer orders daily
* Pack items securely to withstand freight handling while minimizing shipping costs
* Verify orders for accuracy, including items, quantities, labels, and documentation
* Enter shipping data into UPS and FedEx systems
* Determine applicable shipping charges and values
* Complete shipping paperwork and required documentation
* Prepare and/or verify HazMat shipments (if certified)
* Assist with loading and unloading freight
* Operate forklift, tow motor, or hand jack as needed
* Support inventory replenishment and cycle counts
* Work closely with Customer Service to ensure order accuracy
* Collaborate with team members to improve workflow and efficiency
* Provide support to Receiving as needed
Minimum Qualifications
* Strong communication skills (verbal and written)
* High attention to detail and accuracy in order picking and data entry
* Basic math skills
* Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
* Ability to follow detailed written and verbal instructions
Education and Experience
* High school diploma or GED required
* Previous shipping/receiving experience preferred
* Forklift certification a plus
* HazMat certification a plus
* Experience with HTS Codes and Prop 65 requirements a plus
* Experience building crates or general construction a plus
Physical Requirements
* Ability to lift up to 65 pounds
* Ability to stand for extended periods
